Geraldine Hall wrote the following on an unknown date. It appears to be a speech for a Women’s Day-type service.
Women of Mount Zion
Are you excited about today? Then repeat after me.
I am in the right place. At the right time. I believe God is going to do great and mighty things for me this day,
I believe when I leave the house of God this evening I will leave refreshed. I will leave encouraged, Because this is no ordinary day. This is a day of change for me
If you believe what you just said give God a hand clap of praise.
I want to read a passage of scripture which is very familiar to all of us, but I want to read it from the Message Bible rather than the King James Bible.
It’s Jesus’ parable of the Seed and the Sower. Then I would like to share with you a writing I have entitled TODAY.
MATT. 13:1-23 FROM THE MESSAGE BIBLE.
TODAY by me.
Today God has given me a chance to take a look at what I am sowing and compare it to what He has said in His Word.
Today my Lord has given me a chance to view myself and judge myself. He wants me to see how I measure up.
I Believe that, Today, God is giving me a chance to really think about and do Eccl. 3:2 “a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;”
Today, my heavenly Father wants me to understand Jesus’ parable of the Seed and the Sower.
Today, He wants me to understand that I don’t have to let His word “fall by the way side.”
He wants me to understand that I don’t have to let Satan come and “take away the word that is being sown in my heart.”
Today, He wants me to know I don’t have to let His Word be sown on stony ground.
Neither does His Word have to be sown among thorns and choked out of me.
He wants me to understand that I can “Break up my fallow ground and sow not among the thorns.”
Today my Holy Father wants me to understand that His word can be sown in my heart and take root.
Today, I believe, my heart is good ground, plowed and ready to receive the Word of God. I believe this because I am excited and expecting to hear from the Lord.
Today, I believe and understand that I have the power to break up and cultivate the fallow ground of my own heart.
This I believe, because I read it in the book of Hosea. It says; “ Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy: break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.”
Today, God is looking to do a new thing in my life, so Today I will seek and ask Him for crop failures.
Today I will begin to pluck up the things in my life that are not pleasing to God.
Today I will begin to sow to the Spirit of Christ within me. Today I will sow on good ground.
Today is the Day. Today has been arranged and purposed by God especially for me. Today God has given me a second chance.
Today I believe it and I receive it and Today I will say:
I am in the right place. At the right time. I know God is going to do great and mighty things for me this day.
I know when I leave Mount Zion I will leave refreshed. I will leave encouraged, because this is no ordinary day. This is a day of change for me.
For Today I will say Yes!
(Sing – I say yes, Lord yes, to your will and to your way. I say yes, Lord yes, I will trust you and obey when your Spirit speaks to me with my whole heart I’ll agree and my answer will be yes, Lord Yes.
