In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. -John 1:1

This was one of our Mother’s favorite scriptures, and she studied “the Word” Over the years, I’m sure she’s read the entire bible anywhere between 20 and 50 times. I can’t be sure. It’s really just a “guesstimate.” She loved the “Read the Bible in a Year” books. Seeing that she was 67 when she died last year, 50 may be too generous, but she loved to study The Bible. She loved to share it, too. Our Mother was a teacher in Sunday School, Bible Study. If Jesus was “The Living Word,” then Mom was the “Walking and Talking Bible.” She had a scripture for every situation- and quite often a song, too.

When we were younger, she’d sing solos like “It is Well” and “The Lord’s Prayer.” I would join in to sing soprano on “God Never Fails,” and who could forget the songs she sing for us girls. There were either made up or songs from her childhood. “Miss Mary Mack” or “It’s a Mama’s Sweet Thang. It’s a Mama’s Sweet Baby.”

As a wife, Mom made dinner, fixed all of our plates (until we got older), ironed Dad’s work clothes every night and kept a spotless home. She was a Proverbs 31 woman.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. -Proverbs 31:30-31

Suffice it to say, our Mother loved God. She loved him so much. She did her best to walk uprightly, and it tore her apart when she missed the mark.

We’re putting this website to “honor her” and bring “praise.” I’d like to think we did enough while she was still with us, but it is never really enough, is it? With that in mind, we are sharing her legacy with you. As we continue to post and upload her studies and teaching material, you will come to understand why the site is called “” You will know why “Faith, Hope & Love” are running themes in her life and how LOVE became her religion.

I pray that even while she is no longer with us body, her heart, her soul, her emotions and her will to please the Most High will live on forever.
